Celebrate Life After COVID!

“The future is already here, it’s just not evenly distributed.”

–William Gibson

Summer has arrived. Schools are out. Vaccines are available. It is time to come out of the cave and celebrate life after COVID-19.

Different parts of the nation and the world have survived the trials and tribulations of the pandemic. Some are still struggling. However, the world has transitioned into a better place. It is time for a new mindset.

Having social anxiety around returning to groups of people and public venues is completely normal. Be gentle with yourself. Forgive yourself as you get back into the swing of things. Take small steps.  Here are some tips and strategies to ease yourself into positive social interactions:

  • Alone or with a buddy, grab a drink or ice-cream cone at a local café. Sit and enjoy for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Plan a happy hour at home with a small circle of friends. You can provide the spirits. Ask your friends to bring the snacks.
  • Check out the new releases at the local library. Whether you prefer a novel or spicy magazine article, find a seat. Read for the pure pleasure and to be around your neighbors and friends.
  • Spend time at a local park with a fur-baby. Walk around and say hello to other furry friends and their owners.

You can try all these tips of just one or two. It is your choice. Whatever your decision realize that nothing lasts forever. The gloom of a sudden pandemic will not last forever. Despite the loss we have faced, this is a time of rejuvenation.

NEXT STEPS:  Decide what you can do today to reconnect and celebrate life.
