Healing Your Inner Child (Part 2)

Healing the inner child is developing a strategy or strategies to heal an unmet need from childhood that has negatively affected you as an adult. You can choose to heal the inner child alone or with a professional such as a therapist. If you want to try alone before speaking with a professional, some of the strategies include but are not limited to reparenting, visualization, self-reflection, and journaling.

Healing Your Inner Child (Part 1)

Children are born happy. If you observe babies of any nation, any culture, any race, or ethnicity, they are happy. Babies only cry when they need something like food, a fresh diaper, or to sleep. Most babies lay on their backs, wave their arms and feet in the air, and are at peace being new in a new world. It is the difficulties of life that slowly change the happiness we are born with as children. The difficulty can be a dysfunctional family, distressed community, or chaotic environment such as a shortage of food. Eventually, as an adult, we must address the large and small traumas from our childhoods. This is what is means to revisit and heal the inner child.

Learn to Move in Silence

Learning to move in silence means you keep your personal and professional plans and next steps private. You might consult a professional as needed, but you do not advertise to the masses. This is important because a jealous person will try to find ways to put up roadblocks between you and your dreams. One thing you never, never discuss with the masses is your sex life and your money.

The Power of Deep Breathing

When is the last time you stopped to take a deep breath—a breath that flowed down your chest into your belly? Breath has power and can calm you in stressful moments or help you reconnect in quiet moments. Breath can help you come through a situation with a new perspective like potent medicine.

Practice deep breathing at every moment. It is especially useful before or after any difficult moment that has disrupted your life. Deep breathing calms your nervous system that can be on high alert during these times with constant reports of political conflict, inflation, planes falling out of the sky, and more.
